Students in grades fifth, sixth, seventh, and eighth may participate in the Diocesan Interscholastic Sports Program. St. George Catholic School Dragons have the opportunity to compete in the following Diocesan sports:

Boys

  • Co-ed Volleyball 
  • Co-ed Soccer 
  • Basketball 
  • Track 
  • Baseball

Girls

  • Co-ed Volleyball 
  • Co-ed Soccer

Play Like a Champion

The Diocese of Fort Worth has implemented the Play Like a Champion Today educational program. This class offers guidelines for parents and coaches which will enhance the student athlete’s experience. This program is a research-based, child-centered curriculum designed to:


  • help us recognize the spiritual nature of sports
  • educate youth sport coaches to be effective ministers
  • promote the moral and character development of our youth
  • foster a safe and nurturing sport environment for all children


All Catholic schools wishing to participate in the diocesan athletic program must comply with the Play Like a Champion Today program. All of our coaches are required to take this class prior to coaching a team and students cannot participate in athletics until a parent/guardian has taken the class.
