Classes began promptly in August and students, new and returning, quickly picked up on classroom studies routines. The staff welcomed new teachers in Spanish, Music, 4th Grade, Religion and 1st Grade which has proven to be an outstanding boost to the curriculum. A Catechesis Atrium was established for the youngest students and has enjoyed great success in providing the opportunity for our youngest to be introduced the precepts of the Catholic Church.
The Home and School Association was very busy from the start of the year planning and executing excellent events. The three stand-out events were the Fall Festival, Trunk or Treat and the Parade of Lights - all very successfully presented St. George School at its best. Student Council Officers and class representatives also took off with their fundraising and support of the consession stand during games hosted by St. George. The Student Council culminated the year with a successful first Pep Rally and the Spirit Award went to the Fourth Grade Class.
Sports quickly kicked off with Volleyball teams, continued with Soccer and Basketball. Basketball games will resume in January and we wish our teams well through the season. We are thankful to all our coaches who have stepped up to take on the job of training our young athletes and guiding them through good sportsmanship.
The school enjoyed their annual Thanksgiving Lunch with parents, Stone Soup Play and a full week of Thanksgiving Break. Christmas Break started for our students on December 20th with a half-day and noon dismissal. Classes resume on January 5th and the faculty are making all preparations for a return to academics for the 3rd Quarter of the school year.
